(WASHINGTON D.C.) — The latest Cattle on Feed report showed inventory down 3% from June 2022 according to USDA NASS with the total herd size at 11.6 million head. That number was in line with pre-report estimates.
The placements number was slightly higher than pre-report estimates at 1.96 million head, 5% above 2022. Marketings and other disappearance numbers were in line with pre-report estimates with marketings 2% above 2022 and disappearance 3% below 2022.
