More Marijuana Could Enter State Following Minnesota Legalization

(Bismarck, ND) — State law enforcement is expecting more marijuana to enter North Dakota following recreational legalization of the drug in Minnesota. While medical marijuana is legal in North Dakota, recreational use is not. Police warn that people crossing into the state from Minnesota with the drug could be arrested, as North Dakota law will still be enforced. People caught with cannabis face fines and possibly jail time depending on the amount. Law enforcement officials are also concerned that there will be an increase in marijuana-related DUIs.
