Shooting Causes Shelter In Place Order

(Wahpeton, ND) — A weekend shooting in Wahpeton prompted a shelter in place order for residents of the town. On Saturday night, police responded to a report of a man shot in the chest at an apartment complex. Officers found the man laying on the ground but were unable to locate the shooter, and issued a shelter in place for a six-block area. The shooter was identified as Shawn Lee Lane, and he was taken into custody after he was found at another unit in the complex. Lane is facing charges of Attempted Murder and Discharge of a Firearm Within City Limits, while the condition of the victim hasn’t been released.
