Avera Research Institute Awarded $58M In Grant Funding

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Avera Health is announcing a big boost for its research institute, receiving 58-million dollars in grant funding. It’s thanks to two grants from the National Institute of Health. The money will help conduct research to benefit the health of mothers and children, especially those in American Indian and rural communities. Avera says it funds up to seven years of research. The first grant is for ECHO, focusing on how early environmental influences affect child outcomes. And the second is to establish a whole regional network for maternal health research centers.
