Dr. Chima Resigns As Sioux Falls Public Health Director

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Dr. Charles Chima is resigning after nearly two years as public health director for the City of Sioux Falls. That’s according to Director of Human Resources Bill O’Toole. Dr. Chima was appointed by Mayor Paul TenHaken in 2021, and officially hired on June 28th that year. Chima, originally from Nigeria, is a medical doctor who also holds a Master of Science in epidemiology as well as a Doctor of Public Health. There are no plans yet for filling the vacant public health director position.
