(Pierre, SD) — Governor Noem remains in the spotlight for the wrong reasons after a few excerpts have been revealed from her new book. The two-term Republican continues to face backlash, even from GOP colleagues, over a story about killing her family’s 14-month-old dog and a goat several years ago. But now KELOLAND News is reporting she’s avoiding local media after taking time with national media to defend her stories. Noem was scheduled to speak with the local outlet after her appearance on their affiliate CBS with ‘CBS This Morning’ yesterday. However, she reportedly declined to speak with KELOLAND after an interview was confirmed. South Dakota News Watch has previously outlined reduced access from Governor Noem and her administration for South Dakota journalists last year.
