SD State Fair To Add Extra Day

(Huron, SD) — The South Dakota State Fair is adding an extra day for the festivities this year. It’s part of an effort to help livestock exhibits with more time for judging. Now, the annual event will start on the Wednesday before Labor Day in Huron. The Legislature’s Rules Review Committee allowed the changes to go through Monday. State fair manager Peggy Besch says prices for admission passbooks and parking are going to go up a little to reflect the additional day. The brand-new Dakota Events Complex, or DEX, is also set to have its grand opening this year.
