Retired Nurses Receive Volunteer Awards

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Two Sanford volunteers are the recipients of an unexpected honor. Paula Vogelsang and Kay Boik were surprised with the 2023 Volunteer of the Year Award on Thursday while helping serve a holiday meal for patients, families, and staff at Ava’s House. They both worked as emergency room nurses together and still spend time together volunteering. The retired nurses have been helping out at Sanford for about three years now.
