GOP Candidate Blasts RNC Debate Rules

(Des Moines, IA) — A first-time presidential candidate is blasting the Republican National Committee for trying to keep “fresh faces” out of the debate. Speaking on Fox News Sunday, North Dakota governor and GOP presidential hopeful Doug Burgum said the RNC’s eligibility requirements for the debate favor “career politicians” and those who are already in the national spotlight. Burgum has met the requirements for the first GOP debate on August 23rd, in part through what he himself has called a “completely legal hack” to raise funds. His campaign provided donors who made a one-dollar donation with a 20-dollar gift card.
