Gov. Noem Proclaims “Purple Heart Recognition Day”

(Pierre, SD) — Governor Kristi Noem is proclaiming Monday, August 7th as “Purple Heart Recognition Day. She’s calling on all South Dakotans to acknowledge and remember the sacrifices made by members of our military who’ve received the Purple Heart Medal. It’s America’s oldest military medal. The Purple Heart means a soldier has greatly sacrificed themselves, or paid the ultimate price, while in the line of duty.
