(Pennington County, SD) — A large fire is now contained after nearly a dozen fire agencies responded to a structure ablaze in River Valley, southeast of Rapid City. The fire broke out early Thursday morning at the 80-hundred block of Cobblestone Court. Firefighters had to drive through narrow winding roads that were snow and ice-packed to get to it, according to the Rapid Valley Volunteer Fire Department. They successfully contained the fire and prevented the spread of flames to nearby residences while enduring freezing temperatures. No one was reported injured.
